How do TV beds work?
A TV bed is essentially a bed with a TV that lives inside the foot end of the bed, and rises at the touch of a button whenever you want to use it - and slides away again when you’re done. This is a great option for those who love to watch telly in bed, but don’t like the look of a huge black TV distracting from the carefully curated style in their bedroom. Another problem they solve is where to plug in your TV - our TV beds provide a socket inside the bed frame to plug in your TV. Then you just need to plug the bed in near the headboard - letting you have your TV positioned at the foot of the bed for the best view and avoiding any long wires trailing around your bedroom. For our tech beds with extra features, like adjustable mattresses, this also saves on the amount of sockets you need as all these features run off one standard plug.
What sizes are TV beds available in?
Our range of TV bed frames include standard double TV beds, king size TV beds, and super king size TV beds. At the moment, we don’t have any small double or single TV beds, which tend to be a bit too small to fit a TV in the bed frame - but you can certainly use one of our stylish TV stands at the foot of your bed instead.
Does a TV come included with a TV bed?
No, generally TV beds are not supplied as a bed with a built in TV - rather, TV beds tend to have a frame that you install your own TV into, which enable you to lift and lower the TV in and out of the foot end at the touch of a button. Most people prefer to choose their own TV - and many people upgrade their TVs more often than they do their beds anyway! When shopping for a TV bed frame, make sure you check the maximum size TV recommended for the bed - most of ours will accommodate up to a 40” TV.
Are ottoman TV beds with storage available at DFS?
Because the TV lifting mechanism takes up quite a lot of space within the TV bed frame, we haven’t quite managed to invent a TV bed that is also an ottoman… Not yet anyway! However, you can still benefit from a TV bed with storage, as some of our TV beds are available with built-in storage drawers. The other option is to choose one of our tech beds with an adjustable mattress, so you can create the perfect position to enjoy the latest blockbuster as well as a great night’s sleep.
