What’s the difference between a power, manual, and battery recliner?
Our L-shape recliner sofas are available as power, manual, and battery recliners. Each is as relaxing as the other, but there are some considerations to keep in mind when choosing the right one for you.
A power recliner uses electric power to slowly slide back into totally customisable comfort. There’ll be a button on the side of your sofa – or on a remote that’s provided with your piece – which you can easily press to slide into your desired reclining position. Easy, right? Better still, battery recliners offer that same kick-back relaxation but powered by a battery, eliminating the need to find a plug socket and letting your sofa stand wherever you see fit.
A manual recliner takes a pared-back approach to relaxation; simply pull a lever to adjust your seat and recline. Manual recliners typically offer three positions – straight, legs up and back straight, and full recline – and are more affordable than their electric counterparts, though they do require physical effort to operate.
